AIR SPADE SERVICES IN THE UK
The air spade is used for two main purposes:
Site investigation.
Where a client needs to know where tree roots run so as to design the foundations. We are able to excavate an observation trench which will show exactly where the roots intercept. This information can then be used to design foundations.
Shallow decompaction.
The Air Spade can be used to decompact the top 100- 150mm by turning over the surface. This breaks up any surface pans that restrict the vertical movement of water/ air essential to tree and plant health.
